Position Overview

The Global Pricing Manager is responsible for leading the advancement, management and execution of the Global Paper pricing strategies, tactics, analytics and processes. This position reports to Sr. Director of Global Paper Pricing and is closely involved in leading the transformation of global pricing processes. This position\u2019s objectives include contributing to the financial goals; ensuring pricing governance is being followed, while providing excellent service to Sales and the long-term growth and profitability of the Global Papers volume. This role requires a lot of hands-on work, people management, customer interactions, close partnership with multiple stakeholders up to VP and EVP levels and effective introduction of best practices.

Position would ideally be located in Atlanta, GA

Functional Responsibilities

The Manager is the Pricing Lead and is the main point of contact for Global pricing. Also, supports the Export business, typically with the activities listed below:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of Global Pricing

  • Closely engage with multiple stakeholders in Pricing, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance and others to identify their goals, pain points, process gaps and necessary improvements to help develop and drive the pricing vision

  • Lead the system transformation for Project Atlas with Palantir related to global pricing activities to ensure automation of our Pricing Process; Delegation of Authority and KPI\u2019s

  • Engage with pricing team member that support other Global Paper businesses to share knowledge, best practices, talent discussion and to work towards process alignment, where possible

  • Develop analysis and Deal Review for both new opportunities and current customer activities; new contract opportunities; contract renewals and other pricing/quote requests; partners with Sales, Operations, Finance and Marketing to review opportunities and contribute to maximizing individual deal profitability

  • Maintains Export and Export Agent Price Lists and responsible ensuring 100% accuracy of price inputs into demand planning and forecasting processes

  • Ensure that Analytical Tools (Profit Stacks; etc.) are distributed to the Global Paper leadership team on a regular cadence

  • Continuously elevate pricing and business intelligence analytics by enriching with important product, customer, competitive, capacity and other internal BI data

  • Supports other activities and ad-hoc requests as needed

Ideal Candidate Requirements

An ideal candidate will have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant experience in a B2B business, preferably in a large public company

  • High business and financial acumen with a track record of effective partnership with key stakeholders

  • Highly collaborative leader with executive presence and proven experience performing advanced analyses, articulating and explaining analyses, and presenting results to all levels of the organization

  • Experienced in conceptualizing, gaining stakeholder buy-in and implementing transformative change and process improvements in pricing, finance, procurement, operations or similar

  • Outstanding analytical mindset and skills; proven record of building sophisticated models, analytical tools and frameworks

  • Ability to quickly decipher pricing strategy that will result in maximizing Smurfit Westrock margin

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced Excel required; must be proficient in PowerPoint

Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor\u2019s Degree required. MBA Preferred.

  • Strong pricing background

  • Formidable analytical skills

  • Continuous improvement mindset

  • 10+ years of experience in commercially focused, pricing, or finance role

  • 6+ years of relevant pricing, analytical experience; pricing and/or function transformation experience

  • 5+ years of relevant manufacturing industry and B2B environment experience

  • Familiarity of paper business and manufacturing process

  • Familiarity with Smurfit Westrock\u2019s unique value propositions

  • Ability to collaborate across various levels of Smurfit Westrock
