Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role

We are seeking a Nurse Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) to provide support to our public health Federal Government customer.

This is a hybrid remote role based in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the philosophy and approach to infection control training and education.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders and partners to understand existing strategies to build infection control training and educational capacity within all US healthcare settings.

  • Review and update existing materials, messages, and overall approach to training on IPC topics within the framework.

  • Draft materials and provide subject matter input and technical assistance related to projects and activities, ensuring alignment with existing messages, philosophy, and approach.

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality training to varied healthcare audiences, as well as to student and faculty audiences.

  • Work collaboratively to prepare high-impact and innovative educational resources for varied healthcare and student audiences on IPC topics.

  • Provide technical expertise while reviewing partner-developed products and educational materials, including fact sheets, video scripts, web content, and other training-related resources.

  • Communicate with varied stakeholders, as directed by the customer, to explain technical IPC inaccuracies in proposed and draft products and activities and ways to correct content and approach.

  • Review, participate in, and serve as subject matter expert in customer-led and partner-led infection control training events, such as webinars, telementoring sessions, master classes, and sessions.

  • Perform complex management and administrative duties requiring attention to detail and analysis.

  • Prepare documents and presentations for meetings with internal and external experts.

  • Confer with and represent in meetings with grantees and external partners to foster collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the program.

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

  • Must have 3-15 years of experience required.

  • Strong skills and abilities in critical thinking and creative problem-solving.

  • Have experience practicing as an infection preventionist in a healthcare setting during the COVID-19 pandemic and in non-COVID times

  • Have experience explaining infection control guidance and rationale to non-scientific experts as well as varied clinician/non-clinician audiences of varied experience levels

  • Experience and expertise in providing robust and engaging infection prevention and control training and education in healthcare and formal education settings, such as to students or residents preparing to enter health professions.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • CIC certification in infection control required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
