Position Overview

This position is for a Payroll Administrator II (or III) in the CRH Americas Materials, Inc. Payroll Department. This position will participate in the timely processing of payroll by coordinating with the department payroll staff and ensuring time and accurate creation and processing checks and banking related payroll files. This position will also work with the payroll management team on special projects as needed. This position is currently a Hybrid role, working two days or more in the Atlanta, GA Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsible for timely and accurate processing of payroll payments via live check and EFT. This includes creation and submission of payroll related banking files (EFT, Positive Pay, and Prenote) Timely processing and generation of off-cycle payroll checks (manual checks) Tracking status of regular and off-cycle payrolls in Payroll Dashboard and coordination with processing staff and division payroll staff on handoffs in the payroll process. Creation and submission of outbound benefits files to vendors. Research and resolve routine payroll questions and issues Ensure departmental compliance with Atlanta Payroll Department Service Level Agreement as it relates for timeliness and accuracy of payroll processes and communications, including providing accurate and timely responses to operating company inquiries. Serve as point contact to division accounting, human resources and payroll personnel Maintain professional demeanor at all times while representing the company Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required Other duties as required by management

Education/Experience

Associates degree or high school graduate with commensurate experience FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) required (CPP - Certified Payroll Professional - preferred) 5 or more years of multi-corporation, multi-state payroll processing (in-house payroll preferred) Demonstrated knowledge of payroll principles, wage and hour law, payroll taxes, and wage attachments Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles Mainframe payroll application experience; Viewpoint experience a plus List the necessary education, certifications, licenses, or comparable experience required.

Work Requirements

PC literate: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and mainframe payroll application experience Must be 18 years in age or older Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required Must be able to able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met
