Role Summary

Lead the successful deployment of a multi-platform, enterprise-wide, integrated content management ecosystem consisting of a DAM, PIM and CMS, and possibly other systems. Initial discovery and vendor selection stages are complete, with implementation and integration stages well underway. This role will lead the day-to-day deployment of the aggregate capability; from configuration optimization and process design, through migration of assets, to integration with parallel data systems, and overall optimization throughout. This is a multi-year implementation.

Concurrent to development of the platform capability, a separate team will be leading implementation of a service-oriented Content Management Practice dedicated to improving content quality and administration throughout the lifecycle of an asset - from capture, through in-take, enhancement, and ongoing curation.

Both the Content Management Platform lead (this position) and the Content Management Practice lead will be expected to work together to contribute to the development of standards, governance and policy that enable the holistic deployment of this enterprise capability across the IHG ecosystem.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has significant experience standing up and/or managing DAM and PIM systems and/or a successful product management background in related areas of expertise.

  • Prefers to build for the future rather than preside over the present.

  • Is a self-starter, comfortable navigating complex, matrixed organizations with diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and a high tolerance for the ambiguous outcomes that often come with introducing new systems and innovation.

  • Is capable of bridging both business demands and technical requirements to ensure issues and opportunities are addressed holistically and collaboratively.

  • Is passionate about creating intuitive user experience and unleashing the power of a fully integrated ecosystem of modern platforms to innovate new solutions for a rapidly growing company.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with all internal stakeholders and external suppliers across all levels of the organization.

  • Can act as both a product owner for technical leadership, but also capable of acting as business service owner to work with non-technical colleagues to address strategic business requirements for the enterprise.

Key Accountabilities

  • Continually optimize a best-in-class ecosystem of content management capabilities for enterprise-wide use, serving all cross-functional users, including: Brand, Marketing, Booking, Loyalty, B2B, Guest Experience, Digital Channels, Public Relations, more.

  • Own the development and innovation roadmap for DAM, PIM, and CMS capabilities, and related capabilities like in-platform workflow, ensuring all aspects of content management are aligned with cross-functional goals and strategic business priorities.

  • Provide direction for platform improvement and evolution, including cost estimation, budget management, scope and delivery; establish milestones / schedules; partner with solution architects and engineers to jointly determine best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable implementation schedules.

  • Support development of data standards, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies that will inform or improve how DAM and PIM platforms are configured, and ongoing operational efficiency once stood up.

  • Evaluate technical complexity of requirements in order to appropriately prioritize work and manage expectations of cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with business colleagues developing and vetting workflow systems for ingest of new assets and hotel data, including upload UI structure, asset review, enhancement, revision, approval, and modularization. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to drive value and develop customer friendly features and enhancements.

  • Contribute to the overall development of governance rules for the broader content management practice, setting expectations for operational performance, quality, and interoperability; institute governance based on industry best practices for platform deployment, and ensure proper alignment with other data initiatives happening in parallel.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and participate in process owner activities, when appropriate; Advocate for the end-user by understanding their needs and issues (well-documented) with the current platform.

  • Anticipate temporary staffing requirements comparing roadmap against ongoing evolution of platform implementation and evolving system dependencies; maintain high performance levels by attracting and retaining top level, SME talent for the work required.

  • Work with Global Head of Content to identify potential funding gaps or delivery delays, and develop work-arounds to mitigate negative impacts; lead analysis of the full environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

  • Maintain roadmaps and schedules for phased implementation of various steps of deployment; Maintain project plans and status reports of Asset Management development; document changes to plans and ensure information is communicated to other relevant departments.

  • Educate internal and external stakeholders about the technologies used to continually improve the knowledge and skill-base of the organization; can articulate and validate the effectiveness of the Infrastructure environment for the Enterprise.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (both internal and external) in order to effectively influence business decisions and optimize overall work effectiveness; involve various constituencies in problem resolution and increase their involvement in the process as appropriate.

Experience & Expertise

A minimum of 10-12+ years of progressive work-related experience preferred, with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, technologies, or practices related to the position. Specific preferences include:

  • 3+ years experience managing teams or direct reports.

  • 7+ years experience in product management, product owner ship or integrated platform oversight.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in conceptualizing and translating business requirements into specific system functionality; ability to effectively manage stakeholders, both internally and externally.

  • Ability to assess complex issues and mitigate ambiguous or contradictory outcomes to effectively solve problems.

  • Hospitality industry experience a plus, but not required.

  • Consulting experience relevant to this area a plus, but not required.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $200,000. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

**This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
