Microsoft Corporation Principal Technical Program Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

We are the Azure Customer Experience (CXP) team, and we are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to join our team to help drive the next generation of our customer care, trust, reliability, engagement, and observability experiences.

We are part of the Azure engineering organization and consider great customer experience critical to the overall success of Azure. We create, define, and lead product offerings that set our customers up for success, empower them to solve problems, and ensure they have a phenomenal experience if they need support. We empower 200+ product groups across Azure with apps, platforms, intelligent insights, and all the capabilities needed to enable consistent and excellent customer experiences across Azure services.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Technical Program Manager on our team, you will have a direct and clear impact on our products and customers. In this role, you will work closely with talented engineering and Data Science teams, collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across Azure, and have the opportunity to design, deliver, and iterate on new tools, applications, and Azure features. Our work has high visibility with the Azure leadership team and ample opportunities to share our successes and receive support and guidance from them. The scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Listening to customers (internal and external) to understand their scenarios and challenges

  • Driving broad initiatives across Azure and CXP

  • Engaging with partner teams across Azure and Microsoft to drive alignment on dependencies

  • Creating product/feature specifications with visual and written designs

  • Partner with our engineering teams in all phases of development as a subject matter expert on feature design and user experience that focuses on privacy compliance and excellence.

  • Solid architecture skills in distributed and modularized systems

  • Provide hands-on program management during various phases of our projects including day-to-day contributions as part of agile development practices.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Ability to translate customer requirements and scenarios into features, including writing software specifications with user experiences

Other Requirements :

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience with building services on Azure or other cloud services 

  • Experience with data analytics and related technologies, including Kusto (Azure Data Explorer), SQL, ETL technologies, machine learning (ML), and PowerBI

  • Ability to lead through ambiguity while partnering across organizations 

  • Demonstrated ability to come up-to-speed quickly on a new technical domain

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Experience using data to drive prioritization and measure progress

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
