Jacobs Program Director - Construction Management (Aviation) in Atlanta, Georgia

We’re looking for a Program Director - Construction Management with a background in Aviation infrastructure programs to join our Program team in Atlanta, GA assuring the success and profitability of a Construction Management Joint Venture (JV) by planning and directing the business functions of the JV.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as recording secretary to the ACMP Executive Board.

  • Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the JV, the management of all assigned projects and the delivery of services.

  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to assess performance of the JV and progress toward achievement of strategic goals and objectives.

  • Confer with the Board members to review achievements and discuss required adjustments to improve performance and profitability.

  • Confer with the JV Board to coordinate the provision of management information services, estimating and operations support, and project controls to satisfy the needs of the Company.

  • Prepare Monthly Status Report for distribution to the Board members.

  • Monitor all management activities to determine that contractual obligations are met, client satisfaction is attained, and that each project achieves financial success.

  • Determine that the JV operations are staffed with appropriately trained professionals, and that employees of the group are afforded the opportunities necessary to develop and enhance their skills and abilities.

  • Monitor the analysis, assessment and pricing of new assignments to determine that competent and credible proposals are submitted to owner/clients.

  • Verify that published operational policies and procedures of the JV are consistent with current JV Board policies, and reflective of the duties and responsibilities of the JV as defined in the contract with the client.

  • Responsible for evaluating the progress and quality of construction activities in conformance with approved schedules and budgets.

  • Review and approval of progress payments to the client.

  • Monitor the field coordination and inspection.

  • With the assistance of the support staff review bid package documents as issued by consultants for constructability, omissions, clarifications required, and for coordination between design disciplines. Recommends changes as required.

  • With the assistance of the support staff review all construction documents against design development document for scope, schedule and budget conformance.

  • With the assistance of the support staff review General Conditions to suit each bid package and oversee performance.

  • Facilitate resolution of construction challenges.

  • Monitor all field directives.

  • Ensure that insurance and other client contract requirements are properly executed and maintained.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management

  • Minimum 20 years of Program/Project/Construction management experience, with at least 10 years in a construction management leadership role.

  • Multi-year experience on mega, multi-billion-dollar, multi-contract aviation infrastructure programs

  • Effective oral and written skills for client presentations and technical reporting and correspondence.

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to the client, top management and public groups.

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.

  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and a driver of best work culture practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of project team, client, and others.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing large, collaborative, multi-party teams and assessing the competency requirements of the team.

  • Strong technical capability in all project phases, including design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance of large and mega programs / projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex construction delivery strategies and execution plans.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.

  • Ability to pass a 10-year background security check for the purpose of acquiring an airport security badge.

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record which meets Jacobs driving requirements.

  • Willing and able to work Monday-Friday from the Program office located near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Master’s degree

  • Active professional credential: RA, PE, DBIA or CCM
