Position Summary

This position is responsible for operating X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment that assists radiologists and/or physicians with diagnosing and/or treating disease and/or injury.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in radiological technology from accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as Radiologic Technologist, preferably in medical practice environment.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration and CPR certification required

  • Current Radiologic Technologist certificate or license.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Radiologic Technologist experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.

  • Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.

  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients and includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area.

  • Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis. Adjusts/sets radiographic controls.

  • Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the patient’s body as requested by physicians.

  • Develop and process digital images. Checks X-rays for clarity of image, retaking when needed, and quality which includes ensuring correct image, right or left markers, and patient ID

  • Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.

  • Complies with safety standards.

  • Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.

  • Maintains radiographic supplies.

  • Communicates patient needs and responses through appropriate verbal and written correspondence.

  • Help clinical staff with PACS to include importing and burning of CDs.

  • Communicates with appropriate practice leadership about any concerns or operational questions/problems.

  • Send exams to be interpreted in a timely manner ensure exams have been dictated.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
