The Executive Compensation Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and administration of executive compensation programs, ensuring that compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role involves data analysis and reporting, plan administration, and cross functional collaboration to deliver on the strategic objectives of the executive compensation department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Policy and Compliance:
  • Assist in ensuring that executive compensation programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including SEC regulations, IRS rules, and other relevant legislation.

  • Maintain compensation policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness.

  • Prepare and review compensation disclosures for proxy statements and other regulatory filings.

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to analyze trends which will ensure executive compensation practices are competitive, aligned with industry standards, and compliant with relevant regulations.

  • Analyze compensation data and prepare reports on compensation trends, plan effectiveness, and budget impacts.

  • Conduct cost analyses and model compensation scenarios to support decision-making.

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compensation programs and recommend adjustments as necessary.

  1. Communication and Collaboration:
  • Work with the HR department, Finance department, Legal department, and external consultants to implement and administer compensation plans.

  • Oversee the ongoing communication of incentive programs to key stakeholders, including employees.

  • Educate executives and HR teams about compensation programs and their impact on performance and business outcomes.

  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives related to executive compensation and broader HR objectives.

  • Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects to enhance compensation programs and processes.

  1. Plan Administration:
  • Oversee the administration of executive compensation plans, including tracking performance metrics and ensuring timely payments.

  • Manage relationships with compensation consultants, brokers, and other external partners.

  • Administer the long-term incentive plan, including updating the system to reflect the issuance of new awards, vesting existing awards, approving dividend equivalents, and modeling of different scenarios within the system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP) preferred.

  • 5 years of experience in compensation management, with a focus on executive compensation.

  • Strong knowledge of compensation practices, compensation design, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and compensation software.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience administering stock award programs.

  • Prior experience administering non-qualified retirement programs.

  • Experience working with executive compensation in a publicly traded company.

  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging practices in executive compensation.

  • Advanced analytical skills and experience with compensation data analysis tools.
