As a senior communications specialist, you will be responsible for developing internal communications content, as well as coordinating communication programs and plans and maintaining brand consistency across all communication channels. You will work closely with subject matter experts to plan and develop content that supports HNTB’s business goals. You will be responsible for writing, editing, producing and publishing content for various audiences. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent judgement who can align programs with strategy and creatively implement.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategy Development: Partners with team members to develop and implement communications plans that align with the firm’s goals and targeted business development efforts.

  • Content Creation: Develops engaging and informative content that is consistent with brand messaging for a variety of channels including internal, social and web.

  • Creative Strategy: Collaborates with creative team to create visually compelling content.

  • Event Management: Supports the coordination and logistics of various events, conferences, meetings, open houses, forums and other events.

  • Team Leadership: Organizes team meetings to ensure alignment within the communications team.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related fields and 5 years of corporate communications or agency experience

  • In lieu of degree, 9 years of relevant experience

What You’ll Bring:

  • Excellent writing skills including expert knowledge of AP Style

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Teamwork/collaboration

  • Ability to manage and work with a network of freelancers

  • Highly organized and deadline driven

  • Be a self-starter who possesses creativity and can-do attitude

  • Experience interacting and working with senior level leadership

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and in a timely manner

  • Familiar with web content management systems such as Microsoft SharePoint Online and Canva

  • Passion for storytelling

What We Prefer:

  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Internal communications experience
