HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Directly responsible for all aspects of the product development process for one or more Strategic Business Units including the development, product cost reporting and approval process to deliver/exceed expectations related to the Quality, Revenue, Profitability and Costs

Collaborate with design and art teams to understand creative intent and needs. Identify cost drivers and help to manage expectations and prioritize needs to be competitive and create compelling products.

This role typically reports to the Sr Director or Director of PDC and is based in our Buckhead office.

40%: Strategic Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Lead collaboration with Merchandising, Design, Operations, Quality, and Technical Design to communicate quality, cost, and product needs to global sourcing teams

  • Manage design to value process and fabric/trim governance process by effective partnerships with Merchandising, Design, Art, Product Integrity, and Asia teams, balancing needs of style intent with optimal cost and margin.

  • Good understanding of sourcing strategy; provide customer-based inputs to global teams that can be used to support brands needs and priorities.

  • Help enforce calendar timelines to ensure approval deadlines and production buy dates are met to deliver on time and satisfy customer ship dates. As well as enforce policies related to product and style change requests

  • Identify and lead special projects to meet customer needs and drive productivity

35%: Product Management

  • Oversee accurate and timely records are maintained within designated enterprise technology systems (PLM). Managing building and maintenance of PDC owned product attributes and Bill of Materials (BOMs) to meet the desired design and quality requirements.

  • Manage potential development, safety, quality, or cost concerns during sampling and pre-production process and educate others to identify similar concerns

  • Accountable for accurate documentation, validation and reporting of liabilities related to bulk production

25%: Project Management and Process Improvement

  • Supervise that all sample and strike off needs for specific areas or programs happen timely and are as accurate as possible

  • Support global teams on providing commercial acceptability guidance when necessary

  • Routinely perform external research to identify process improvements; be a champion for change

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

Must have:

  • 8 to 10 years industry experience in either Textile and/or Apparel Manufacturing, Sourcing, Merchandising or Product Development

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or a minimum of 4 years of additional industry experience directly related to apparel Sourcing or Product Development

  • Expert understanding of apparel design, fabric qualities, product costing, import duty rates, printing techniques, and merchandising and product development activities

  • Advanced grammar and communication skills; capable of interpreting and conveying international business concepts

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Superior analytical and project management skills; ability to anticipate and proactively arrive at viable solutions

  • Potential for domestic or international travel, up to 10%

  • Ability to lift small parcels weighing up to 30 lbs.

  • Advanced understanding of business and profitability, product margin, and the ability to influence decision markers
