Job Description

Primary Purpose:

The Senior Manager Safety Processes will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies and procedures within the organization. This role requires a passion for root cause analysis and process improvement. A thorough understanding is eventually needed regarding FRA regulatory compliance, industry standards, and best practices.

Principal Duties:

• Develops, delivers, and tracks participation in safety training programs educating employees on safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation, and proper procedures

• Investigates incidents or accidents, gathers and analyzes statistics, and makes recommendations for improvements

• Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on safety processes

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of Operations

• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders to stay up-to-date on railroad industry trends and regulatory changes

• Manage a team of safety professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the successful execution of safety processes

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 5 - 8 years

Preferred Level: 8+ years

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Majors:

  • Business - Transportation Operations / Logistics

  • Engineering - Industrial Engineering

  • Occupational Health and Safety

Licenses / Certifications:

Required: None

Preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
