Job Summary

The manager of restaurant profitability is responsible for managing the programs and initiatives that support restaurant profitability. The role is responsible for analyzing the financial performance of restaurants and identifying best practices and areas opportunities for improvement. The manager will work closely with the operations, marketing, and finance teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for optimizing the profitability of each restaurant.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

Profit Tracking & Analysis

  • Manage the profit tracking program through daily, quarterly, semi-annual and annual activities, including:

  • SME for Franchisees for system functionality, timely upload of P&Ls, and mapping of new P&L items

  • Prepare reporting to support Franchise Business Partners in discussions with Franchisees

  • Co-develop reports to provide insights into key areas to address discussion points arising from Franchisees

Labor Management

  • Serve as owner and SME for HotSchedules (labor management system)

  • Analyze data for insights on most efficient restaurants and translate into system wide best practices

  • Determine coaching/training required on labor management and scheduling for inefficient restaurants

  • Manage the labor management strategies for special events (e.g. Super Bowl, Halloween) including communications, sharing best practices, and intervene with restaurants that have not adjusted forecast for special events.

Projects & Metrics

  • Manage the Data as a Service (DaaS) performance and other metrics such as OSAT

  • Provide project management support for Corporate Operations and Restaurant profitability projects and initiatives.

  • Responsible for process improvement (identify outliers and root-cause analysis) of P&L items

  • Responsible for ensuring core operational tools are being used and evolved with the business needs

  • Collaborate with the operations, marketing, and finance teams to align on the profitability goals and initiatives.
