The Strategic Workforce Planning center of excellence within Truist HR is integral to advancing the perspectives and practices on human capital and workforce strategy across executive/senior leaders and board members. This practice ensures Truist has the right capacity and capabilities to achieve business goals and remain competitive in a dynamic marketplace.

The Strategic Workforce Planning Skills Lead Consultant will lead the implementation, execution, and improvement of Truist’s approach to a skills-enabled Strategic Workforce Planning (SWFP) process as a member of the Enterprise Skills Team with additional partnership with teams across HR such as Talent, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, and HR Business Partners.

*Must have the capacity to work in an office centric role 4 days per week.*

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Partners with the business to translate strategic objectives to current and future key skills required to drive organization success

  2. Develops approach and leads efforts to apply incumbent skills requirements to job profiles required for strategic workforce planning and the governance process to ensure they are maintained

  3. Partners with HR Business Partners and HR COEs to assess SWFP talent skill gaps and monitor progress made to closing gaps

  4. Interprets data and information with a view to support businesses in understanding their skills gaps / emerging skill requirements for future demand

  5. Supports the business through external benchmarking of skills data in partnership with the enterprise skills team and HR partners

  6. Educates the business and HR partners on the use of skills for Strategic Workforce Planning in partnership with the enterprise skills team

  7. Leads regulatory responses specific to annual and/or interim skills process required for strategic workforce planning job profiles

  8. Drafts and produces related policy, procedure and guidelines related to strategic workforce skill planning to enable consistent deployment of the process.

  9. Partners and participates with the HR partners (e.g., Talent and Skills Product Owner) providing input to overall Truist skills framework, approach, roadmap and ongoing maturation of the skills framework as it relates to strategic workforce planning requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in talent focused areas such as Strategic Workforce Planning, Skills, Organization Development, HR Talent Management, Human Capital Strategy or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  2. Ability to understand, marshal and interpret a wide range of information, ideas and concepts, draw conclusions, and make recommendations

  3. Experience leading and using human capital analytics to understand complex talent trends/problems, identifying underlying issues and creating and executing innovative solutions.

  4. Ability to understand, marshal and interpret a wide range of information, ideas and concepts, draw conclusions, and make recommendations

  5. Demonstrated ability to coach, consult and influence peer group and senior leaders in decision making and strategic processes,

  6. Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that shape the industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree preferred in Business/Business Strategy, Industrial/Organization Psychology or other related fields of study

  2. Prior strategy or management consulting experience preferred

  3. Experience working multiple industries to include banking / financial services
