Chick-fil-A Tax Research Lead, Sales Tax in Atlanta, Georgia
Overview
The Chick-fil-A Tax Department is responsible for tax compliance, technology, special projects, research and audit defense functions for independently owned franchised restaurants and corporate activities. We exist to provide tax planning, regulatory reporting and consulting to stakeholders, governments, external auditors and business leaders. Primary responsibilities of this role is to support the Tax Department’s Sales Tax function performing complex tax research and analysis regarding sales tax issues impacting Chick-fil-A, Inc. and third party franchisees with limited to minimal review. This role may lead or direct large special projects independently and may act as a liaison with other departments to complete projects with limited to moderate supervision.

Responsibilities
Performs complex tax research and analysis with minimal review, including preparation of written memorandum and multi-state and local matrices. Assist in communicating impact of research to the Director of Tax, as well as third-party franchisees when required.
Prepare documentation and assist in implementing appropriate corrective actions to reduce exposure for tax liability issues.
Monitor state and local tax legislation and current developments that impact the Company and third-party franchisees and provide analysis as appropriate. Assist in communication with appropriate members of the Company and third-party franchisees, as needed.
Assist with the ownership, investigation and communication of product taxability issues identified for the business.
Assist with the overall use tax taxability decisions for both the Company and third-party franchisees.
Assist with analyzing business programs throughout Chick-fil-A and assist with advising on tax impacts and mitigation strategies. Monitor @CFA and Corporate Communication emails to learn of new initiatives and report to the Sr. Principal Team Leader.
Build and foster relationships between Company and industry tax professionals and state and local taxing authorities through attendance at industry events, governmental events, and other functions.
Present to both internal and external partners regarding Sales Tax matters.
Acts as a sales tax liaison with various internal and external partners.
Provide assistance to the Sales Tax Audit Team on an as needed basis.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of Tax Experience
Bachelor's Degree
CPA or CPA Eligible OR JD/Admittance into the Bar
Preferred Qualifications
5-10 years of Tax Experience
Master's in Accounting/Tax or LLM
