Altium Packaging Technical Support Specialist-1 in Atlanta, Georgia

Provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer related issues for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically. Provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, software and hardware installation, word processing, electronic mail and operating systems. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform maintenance to support network availability. Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems. Install system upgrades. Lead and assist in Infrastructure support projects. These projects vary in scope, but serve to support the infrastructure of the company with new technologies and resources. Provide training and knowledge transfer in team context in order to accomplish objectives. Perform duties safely, ensure safety of others, and comply with all Altium Packaging policies.

  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems

  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all other infrastructure components

  • Respond to inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems

  • Follow up with computer users to ensure problems are fixed and a solution was provided to completion

  • Ensure latest software is upgraded and installed on user computers

  • Assist in onboarding and off boarding employees. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software

  • Conduct research, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support

  • Enter commands and observe system functionality to verify correct operations and detect errors

  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken, or installation activities

  • Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment

  • Back up network data, install network software, and document network support activities

  • Troubleshoot network or connectivity problems for users or user groups

  • Notify network users if problems arise

  • Participate in and lead Infrastructure projects

  • Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, and timeline

  • Work in teams with other members of IS department, such as systems engineers and information analysts, to accomplish projects

  • Provide solutions to users for achieving higher levels of efficiency and productivity in business operations

  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • Associates degree required. BS in Information Technology or systems administration preferred

  • Three-plus years of experience maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting computers and technology

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software

  • A few years of experience with customer service or user support.
