The Salvation Army Southern Territory Headquarters Territorial Auditor in Atlanta, Georgia
[Location: Territorial Headquarters, Atlanta, GA *[About this opportunity: [This position is responsible for Planning, conducting, and reviewing internal audits throughout the Southern Territory on behalf of The Salvation Army to discover weaknesses in accounting systems and possible fraud. *[Key responsibilities:]{arial",sans-serif"=""}]{arial",sans-serif"=""}]{arial",sans-serif"=""}]{arial",sans-serif"=""}**
- Reconciles accounts to determine compliance with established Salvation Army, accounting and bookkeeping policies and procedures; prepares reports and provides recommendations to improve accounting and bookkeeping methods, practices, and procedure
- Determines and recommends solutions to improve the current problematic accounting situations; determines the weak spots in internal control of accounting, banking, expenditures, receipting, sales, et.
- Informs Territorial Audit Secretary of mishandling, misrepresentation, or misappropriation of funds, statistics, or general data discovered through internal audits.

- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, AND
- Two years of experience performing accounting, bookkeeping, or auditing work. OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to manipulate and scrutinize numbers.
- A constant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking, and sitting at least 90% of the work time; rare to the occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching at least 30% of the work time.
- Frequent overnight travel throughout the Southern Territory.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
