Job Summary

The Vice President, Field Sales will build and lead all aspects of the Comcast Business Central Division Field Sales organization. Working in partnership with both regional and headquarters teams, this leader will work to optimize channel penetration and productivity. This position is responsible for overseeing the development of the short and long-term sales strategy to drive and accelerate revenue growth.

Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and execute an effective field sales strategy for capturing and growing our existing strategic Enterprise customers in the State/Local Government and Education vertical as well as Small Business.

  • Coach and develop an effective Field Sales and Sales Engineering leadership team that drives performance and results of sales professionals and sales engineers across all Central Division Sales Channels (HQ, Division, and Region).

  • Maintain up-to-date sales funnel and pipelines. Accurately forecast future opportunities and revenue.

  • Play a leadership role in partnership with contracts and sales teams to negotiate customer contracts in a timely and high-quality manner.

  • Monitor reports and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales results, other activity, and performance measures. Present results as needed to key stakeholders across the business. Maintain and report profit/loss of the business unit.

  • Monitor deal progress, review records and reports provided to senior management and oversee the organization, promotion, and orchestration of all sales activities to ensure the success of the Field Sales team.

  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships, both cross-functionally and across region, division, and headquarters teams and internal organizations, to ensure maximum effectiveness of the sales organization.

  • Develop strategies and plans for implementation of additional sales verticals.

  • Provide feedback to Product and Marketing for sales campaigns to increase sales volume and lead generation.

  • As a member of the Comcast Business division leadership team, provide insight and expertise to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the Comcast Business organization.

  • Ensure the achievement of customer and employee experience, sales, and Operating Expense goals.

REQUIRED SKILL SETS

  • 15+ years of direct sales and sales management experience in a Telecom Enterprise Sales (MSO, CLEC, MSP, Wireless etc.) environment.

  • At least 3-5 years of sales executive leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated success in Enterprise customer sales, and extensive experience selling to the Large Enterprise Fortune 1000 market for telecommunication products and services.

  • Experience in closing/overseeing large Enterprise opportunities with more than $500k/month in monthly recurring revenue.

  • Driven by targets and winning as a team.

  • Extensive experience in contract negotiating for large value contracts including standard and non-standard Terms and Conditions.

  • Understand basic financial rules, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cost of sale, budget, leasing.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional leadership environment in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Experience developing go to market plans and supporting business cases.

  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.

  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills, and planning, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and to travel as necessary.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
