Sensata Technologies, Inc. Business Development Professional - Gas Detection Sensors in Attleboro, Massachusetts

The Business Development Professional, Gas Detection Sensors will be tasked to achieve accelerated sales growth in targeted Growth Initiatives in the Industrial Solutions (IS) business; as well as meeting or exceeding goals set by the sales leader. The ideal candidate is able to use their technical aptitude, market knowledge, business acumen and team inputs to analyze market trends, customer requirements, technology drivers, and competitive landscape to develop and execute growth strategies within the targeted areas. This role works in collaboration with the global sales, marketing, product, and engineering teams to achieve new business wins.

This role will be responsible for new business development activities and sales growth for targeted Growth Initiatives at target accounts within the IS business. Focus for this role will be Gas Detection Sensors, with initial emphasis on Resonix A2L sensor applications with small to midsize target accounts in North America. Targeted IS Growth Initiatives will be reviewed and set with management on an annual basis.

General Responsibilities

  • Organizes new accounts within an established geographic territory/product line.

  • Connect, contact, and engage new potential clients and prospects.

  • Key participant in a strong and consistent pipeline of new business.

  • Analyze customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services

  • Collaborates on sales skills and knowledge of the organization's products, services, and customers

  • Key participant in identifying and implementing efficiency opportunities such as distributor dashboards, etc.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business within the IS market segments for long term revenue and share growth

  • Works in collaboration with the sales team and channel at target accounts to develop NBOs and account strategies related to target growth initiatives

  • Identify and evaluate new target customers and sales channels for target business for potential fit to growth plan

  • Achieve sales and market share growth in target business to meet or exceed goal set by sales leader

  • Actively develop and manage the NBO pipeline in collaboration with the sales team for target business to achieve growth plan

  • Works closely with Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and PMT to develop knowledge on targeted products and applications.

  • Supports Marketing and Product Management teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize legislative, competitive and technical discontinuities

  • Actively support activities and communication related to target business at key accounts within the CRM system, keeping information current and accurate at all times

  • Communicates information as needed to team members and management to ensure success.

  • Performance of other duties as assigned or required.

  • Frequent business travel required.

  • The ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences. Ability to understand client and team’s needs and act accordingly.

  • Prior experience or working knowledge of electronic sensors or controls a plus

  • Ability to perform complex work requiring a high degree of original thinking and independent judgment
