Group Summary

About the Role

Under the direction of the General Manager, plans, develops and manages the health, safety, ergonomic and environmental functions within the division. Manages all Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist

Your Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the division management team, establishes annual health, safety and environmental annual objectives.

  • Manages the Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist including but not limited to planning, assigning, directing and coordinating their day-to-day activities.

  • Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures, programs and databases related to health, safety, ergonomic and environmental practices and requirements.

  • Ensures all federal, state and local safety and environmental laws/regulations and codes are observed.

  • Leads improvements in the division’s safety and environmental performance through the use of audits, behavior based safety, ergonomics and safety committee.

Education/Certification/Licensure : Bachelors Degree in Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of safety, ergonomic and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior supervisory / management responsibility.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good written, verbal and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Detailed oriented with good organizational skills. Good analytical, assessment and problem resolution skills. Working knowledge of Federal and State occupational health and safety regulations; and demonstrated ability to provide guidance to the plant and ensure compliance. Working knowledge of ISO 14001. Familiarity with ADA, FMLA and HIPPA. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
