THE POSITION

Sr. Staff Software Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:

Design and develop micro-controller specific embedded software for automotive electronic control units used in Remotes Keyless Entry (RKE) and Passive Access and Start (PASE) systems in Matlab and/or C language using static and dynamic analysis tools, as well as configuration and change management tools (JIRA, Git, DOORS). Investigate and resolve issues using emulator or debugger on a bench, and/or on an actual vehicle, by using lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, protocol analyzer (i.e. CAN, LIN, SPI. etc.) and logic analyzer. Conduct software verification activities including module and integration testing on test benches and Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) environments. Conduct and participate in internal and external software reviews to ensure high software quality and compliance to customer requirements and industry standards (i.e MISRA, ASPICE, ISO26262). Coordinate with local and global teams responsible for different parts of software and align them towards delivery schedules. Work closely with other domains (i.e. Hardware, Systems) to ensure robust, efficient, production intent solutions. Support the discussion with the customer regarding technical solutions or investigations. Responsible for software development of projects with the agreed scope, timing, budget and quality. Report regular project status, risks and resources requests to management. Investigate new concepts to improve product performances and lead the development of approved concepts/initiatives.

 

Telecommuting permitted up to 50% per week.

 

Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive, related work experience.

 

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Designing and developing embedded automotive software in C programming language;
  • Implementing diagnostic requirements;
  • CAN or LIN communication protocol and simulation tools including CANalyzer or CANoe;
  • Software development lifecycle (requirements management, design, development, and testing);
  • Change management and configuration management process and tools; and
  • Using 32-bit microcontrollers and development tools (debugger, oscilloscope, and static code analyzers).

Must have 3 years of experience leading embedded software development projects.

Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Bootloader implementation or configuration for embedded ECUs; and
  • Diagnostic stack configuration using AUTOSAR compliant tools (including Vector, EB, or similar).

Must have 1 year of experience in software development for AUTOSAR based projects.
