Cayuga Milk Ingredients Process Equipment Operator Night Shift in Auburrn, New York

POSITION TITLE Process Equipment Operator LOCATION Auburn, NY POSITION REPORTS TO Plant Manager BACKGROUND Cayuga Milk Ingredients CMI is a state of the art manufacturing company that was founded in 2012 by a progressive group of Central New York dairy producers. CMI has been selling dairy products in the global marketplace since June of 2014. Please visit our website to learn more www.cmingredients.com POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare product to specifications: Analyzing incoming ingredients, blends and prepare manufacture in process and finished product to meet customer specifications. Maintain proper inventory levels of all manufacturing supplies. Perform chemical analysis of incoming and outgoing ingredients to ensure compliance within desired specifications of finished product. Troubleshooting Work with engineering, production, quality, and sanitation personnel to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance related to all processing equipment. Cleaning Maintain equipment, work area, and overall plant cleanliness to ensure compliance with all GMP standards Apply GMP Good Manufacturing Practices Procedures 5S labeling Responsible for adhering to all Good Manufacturing Practices, regulations to assure proper design, monitoring, and control of the manufacturing processes and facility. PEOs will assist in goal setting, training, and continuous improvement metrics. PEOs are also responsible for adhering to the 5S program that facilitates better operations, and workspace management. Operate and maintain equipment Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment in a desirable manner to achieve target key performance indicators within each department. Participate in plant operational and maintenance programs. Follow Standard Operating Procedure SOP Protocols Demonstrate knowledge of SOPs and performance standards for staff including exhibiting work habits to the highest standard of safety and always maintaining a safe and organized condition of the plant. Regulatory Compliance Complete documentation associated with all manufacturing reports. Interpersonal Skills The successful candidate must demonstrate teamwork, strong communication skills, sound judgement, accountability, and leadership.
Training All training is provided on site, the candidate must participate in required training and education programs POSITION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma, or equivalent. Technical degree, associate degree or equivalent manufacturing experience in food manufacturing, chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or other manufacturing field is, preferred. Strong knowledge and experience in manufacturing equipment, regulatory compliance, food safety, quality manufacturing and processing standards as applied to the dairy/food manufacturing industry, preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity with Windows based programs.
Ability to perform basic laboratory skills in a safe manner.
Familiarity with basic processing equipment and calibration requirements.
Ability to understand technical records and communicate technical data.
Ability to work independently or within a group with minimal supervision.
Ability to detect color changes in chemical testing procedures. Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
Incumbents must be able to stay standing and moving for up to 90% of their 12-hour shifts or other schedules as determined by organizational needs. Flexible schedules as determined by organizational needs include overtime as required. including overtime as required.
