Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Measurement Scientist to join our team as a trusted technical expert. As a Senior Principal Measurement Scientist, you will focus on designing robust and innovative measurement frameworks that evaluate the performance and impact of predictive models and analytics systems. Your contributions will directly influence our ability to assess model success, improve customer outcomes, and optimize business impact.
You are a hands-on scientific expert with a deep understanding of statistical modeling, data science, and predictive analytics. Responsibilities
The measurement scientist’s responsibilities include :
Design and implement advanced measurement frameworks to evaluate the performance and business impact of predictive models, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Develop comprehensive systems to monitor, validate, and optimize predictive models, quantifying uncertainty and assessing their effectiveness in real-world scenarios. This includes addressing data drift, model bias, and other emerging risks to maintain the reliability and relevance of the models over time.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to align measurement strategies with organizational objectives. Act as a trusted advisor by scrutinizing experimental designs, validating methodologies, fostering shared understanding, and driving cross-functional alignment on measurement practices.
Address complex and ambiguous challenges by breaking them into actionable solutions and devising innovative approaches to ensure measurement systems remain scalable, reliable, and adaptable to evolving business needs. Illuminate potential pitfalls and proactively solve for long-term sustainability in predictive and analytical processes.
Establish and maintain rigorous scientific standards for measurement systems, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with best practices in experimental design, model evaluation, and result validation. Advocate for and lead the adoption of these practices across the organization.
Continuously refine and enhance measurement systems through feedback and real-world outcomes, ensuring that processes remain effective and relevant. Monitor for potential issues, such as model performance degradation or data inconsistencies, and implement improvements as necessary.
Serve as a thought leader by staying abreast of cutting-edge methodologies, trends, and technologies in measurement science and predictive analytics. Share insights across the organization to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of industry practices.
Job Requirements:
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and programming languages such as Python or R, alongside tools like SQL and data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy). Apply expertise in developing scalable, reliable measurement systems that meet business and scientific standards.
Bring a deep understanding of measurement methodologies, including metrics for evaluating predictive models (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall), experimental design, A/B testing, and causal inference, ensuring robust evaluation of analytics systems.
Leverage machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch, along with visualization tools such as Matplotlib, or Seaborn, to create interpretable, impactful, and actionable insights from complex datasets.
Excel at articulating complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, collaborating effectively across teams, influencing stakeholders, and building consensus to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications:
A PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field is strongly preferred.
A master’s degree with significant professional experience in a similar role may also be considered.
10+ years of experience in measurement science, data science, or a related field with a focus on designing and implementing predictive analytics and measurement systems.
Proven expertise in developing and evaluating predictive models, with a demonstrated ability to measure their business impact in large-scale environments.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $139,400 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
