Job Overview

The Dialysis Nurse supports Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) mission, vision, and core values. This role provides and directs patient care for patients experiencing acute or chronic kidney failure in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and policies, values, and mission of the organization. The Dialysis Nurse manages and oversees patients during acute and chronic dialysis treatments to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes, and maximize available resources. Additionally, the Dialysis Nurse actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and serves as a subject matter expert in specialty areas.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Experience: Three years of nursing experience including two years dialysis, CRRT or Apheresis nursing experience Equivalency: None Certification(s): BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire. Licensure(s): Registered Nurse (RN) license This position may require a BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Responsible for the ov rsight and delivery of direct patient care aligning with established policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations. Direct patient care includes all dialysis modalities: hemodialysis (HD), peritoneal dialysis (PD), Acute HD and PD.Demonstrates knowledge of Transplant along with other therapies as needed.
