Job Overview

The END Technologist II can provide general oversight of the END technologists I. The END technologist II is qualified to provide a descriptive analysis of waveforms and patterns, but is not responsible for the interpretation of data. Strong well developed communication skills are essential for this position. The END technologist II performs all procedures appropriate to their credentials.

EDUCATION - High school diploma or GED EXPERIENCE - Two years of experience in Electroneurodiagnostics, including clinicals and six months of pediatric experience. CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR LICENSE -ABRET Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) This position may require a BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE a.) Neonate - 30 days to 1yr c.) Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs d.) Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs e.) School age - >5yrs to 13yrs f.) Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs g.) Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform. Assists with special procedures such as SPECT injection, GRID placement and ECOG. Assists with special projects during non-patient care down time. Calibrates and maintains equipment and lab in good and clean condition; verbalizes malfunction to the Clinical Coordinator or Manager as needed. Completes all paperwork/forms for procedure being conducted; follows up with archiving of records. Follows the International 10-20 system for prope electrode application. Identifies and performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination. Maintain current knowledge to assure a safe working environment and demonstrate practical application of all policies & procedures relative to safety, infection control, standard precautions and risk management Observe, notate and analyze ongoing clinical and technical changes, adjusting the testing procedures as appropriate for individual recording sessio Performs ambulatory EEGs. Performs special procedure EEGs such as neonatal recordings, ECS recordings
