The Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist implements and administers company-wide (including subsidiary companies) safety, accident prevention, and occupational health programs to prevent or reduce industrial injuries and illnesses in a manner that reflects the companys vision of working as One Professional Team. This role will also implement and administer environmental programs to reduce waste, prevent pollution, and ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws. The EHS Specialist will ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT and other federal, state, and local laws and regulations while also implementing and administering physical security for company facilities. This position will be supporting our Colorado Pay Rate: $67,873.44 - $93,328.89 annually Pay is dependent on education and experience. Studies, helps develop, and promulgate procedures and policies. Ensures compliance with all local, state and federally legislated safety and environmental laws including OSHA, MSHA, DOT and EPA Represents company at city, county, state and industry meetings, committees, and conferences. Provides data to customers as a part of bid packages and pre-qualification. Becomes directly involved in confidential and sensitive issues. Interprets policies and laws, advises, and counsels company management. Performs personnel sampling (sound levels, hazardous material exposure, etc.) and implements corrective action, as necessary. Ensures adequate safety and health, first-aid, and environmental-related training. Serves as an environmental, health and safety resource for management and employees. Assists in formulating, developing, and directing all facets of company accident-prevention program. Assists in developing and administering emergency plans. Assists in formulating, developing, and directing all facets of company-environmental program. Assists in conducting root cause analysis for accident investigations. Conducts or Ensures facility inspections to help identify safety and environmental hazards. Monitors changes in governmental regulations and advises management on compliance. Performs environmental samplings of waste streams, and potentially hazardous materials. Other duties as assigned by manager. Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED Bachelors Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred) 2+ years experience in a position requiring knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and administering policies to ensure compliance with those laws. 1-3 years administrative/clerical experience 1-3 years customer service experience 1-3 years supervisory experience 3-5 years techn cal or mechanical experience Additional Eligibility Requirements: Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or similar training/certification a plus Physical Demands & Competencies: Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing Walking on uneven surfaces and stairs Primarily sedentary work that involves sitting/standing but may require occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills Safety & Product Knowledge Injury prevention and injury case management (including OSHA/MSHA recordkeeping). Knowledge/competency in a variety of environmental, health, and safety topics Excellent communication skills for working with all levels of leaders, employees, and customers, training/teaching, presenting, drafting reports and policies. Detailed knowledge of accident prevention, public safety, accident investigation, motor vehicle accident prevention, fire prevention, workers compensation, and security. Strong employee relations and interpersonal skills needed. Strong analytical skills Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other internet/computer-based software. Work Environment: Noise: Moderate
