ABCO Maintenance is a Commercial Facility Maintenance/Construction Company that has been serving the Tri-State area 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day for over 35 years. We are actively recruiting Application Developer to join our team.

Job Description

ABCO is seeking a qualified and talented Application Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and assisting in the development of functional programs and applications to solve specific business needs. You will collaborate with a team of professionals, but also work independently with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate for this position will have...

  • Excellent knowledge of at least one programming language

  • A strong understanding of various operating systems and platforms.

  • An analytical mindset and attention to detail are essential qualities for success in this role.

Your primary objective as an Application Designer will be to gather Business Requirements and ensure translation from requirements to the development of fully functional software applications and features that meet specific requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business requirements and how they translate into new solutions/application features

  • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals and user base to set specifications for new applications

  • Design creative prototypes according to specifications

  • Aid in development of high-quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines

  • Perform unit and integration testing before launch

  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing

  • Troubleshoot and debug applications

  • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features

  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

Position Requirements

Requirements and Skills

  • Ability to program in at least one programming language such as C#, Java (J2EE) etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools

  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.

  • A team player with excellent communication skills

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability

  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills

  • BS/BA in computer science or relevant field
