JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Senior Production Associate FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Operations/Manufacturing Reports To: Production Supervisor or

Director of Operations

Senior Production Associate

SUMMARY: This position may perform any or all of the following duties: assemble, visually inspect, test, and package through-hole and surface mount subassemblies and mechanical units. May also make minor repairs, modify, and update through-hole and surface mount subassemblies to the current revision for new and repaired products. This position is also required to provide on-line training and assistance to lower level production associates as needed. May work from any or all of the following work instructions: Bills of material, assembly drawings, operational method sheets, schematics, test procedures, modification sheets, engineering change orders or rework instructions, written instructions, group leader, and supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assemble components and housing units in accordance using required documents with layout instructions and prints.

Perform visual inspection of units for proper assembly, solder problems, missing, reversed, or damaged components, test function verification, silk screen and packaging, to ensure workmanship standards are met. May also perform lot sample inspections of finished products.

Modify new and repaired units to the current revision per modification instructions.

Perform manual and automated tests on printed circuit boards and units to determine conformance to product specification per test procedures.

Make minor repairs to units as necessary including replacing surface mount and through-hole components and solder connections.

Perform solder touch-up on printed circuit boards as needed.

Wire-wrap wire cable to electronic terminals.

Maintain product documentation and related logs as required.

Pack finished products including any required literature.

Verify component and quantity accuracy.

Be responsible for general utility tasks including product movement.

Provide on-line training and ongoing assistance to lower level production associates as needed.

Follow safety rules and keep work area in clean and orderly condition.

May use any or all of the following equipment/tools: Hand, air, and power tools, wire-strip and wire-wrap guns, lead cutting and forming machines, solder iron/desolder, exacto knives, scribes, calipers, electronic test equipment, test fixtures, hand press, hand trucks, rivet gun, foam packing machines, bar code scanner, tape machine and computer terminal.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

High school diploma or equivalent.

3 years minimum electronics production experience required.

[]{#_GoBack}Previous Hand Soldering experience is strongly preferred.

Must be familiar with Manufacturing Processes and Workmanship Standards and surface mount technology.

Familiarity with use of various hand, air, and power tools, and test equipment is helpful.

Required to sit, stand, bend and walk regularly; l ft and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Requires fine manual dexterity.
