Robert Half is partnering with a client located in south Portland, Oregon who's looking to hire a Systems Administrator to their team. Our client provides life saving equipment around the world. The role involves managing and maintaining computer systems, including networks, servers, and security systems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of our client's tech-driven operations and the chance to make a real impact in people's lives. This a Direct Hire opportunity with a limited hybrid schedule, flexible hours, and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects

• Ensure the efficient performance of servers, routers, and networks

• Implement and manage storage area networks and perform regular upgrades

• Plan and implement network security, including setting up firewalls, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, and file system integrity

• Apply active directory services and manage user access, group policies to control visibility and accessibility

• Manage Cloud Infrastructure including Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 components.

• Manage and support virtual servers, desktops, and other endpoints including installing, upgrading, and patching.

• Implement backup technologies to ensure the safety and integrity of data

• Resolve problems reported by end users for local and wide area networks, personal computer systems, and system software

• Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to all users

  Requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience

• Proficiency in Azure/Entra, O365, and Exchange management and operations

• Knowledge of virtualization VMWare, VDI, SQL, back-ups, and system documentation

• Working knowledge of SANs, routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco or Fortinet preferred).

• Demonstrated knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and various network monitoring tools

• Ability to handle system upgrades, including planning, implementation, and post-upgrade checks.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Intune.

• Experience with Nutanix.

• College degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).

• Industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, Security+).
