Amazon Assessment Technical Architect, Exam Prep, AWS Exam Preparation in Austin, Texas

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training & Certification team is seeking an experienced AWS technical trainer or technical architect to advise on the technical accuracy and clarity of assessments that will prepare candidates taking AWS Certification exams.

The Exam Prep team is part of the AWS digital training business, creating content for AWS Skill Builder. We use the Amazon working backwards process to build innovative learning experiences. Our global customers are Enterprises, Partners, SMBs, Startups, and individual learners. To meet our customer needs we are creating exam preparation products that deliver impactful, hands-on learning experiences. We are looking for innovative ways to help our customers to successfully and confidently prepare for AWS Certification exams. Exam Preparation assessments provide customers with practice with the same question quality as the real exam and exam-style scoring.

This position is open to candidates located near AWS offices in Arlington, VA, Seattle, WA, Herndon, VA, and Austin, TX.

Key job responsibilities

  • Participate in managing, monitoring, and developing technical exam preparation questions

  • Design and manage development of internal applications to support question development, maintenance, and analytics

  • Maintain the technical bar for a cadre of expert technical question writers

  • Please note this role will require some travel (10%).

A day in the life

This role gives the opportunity to learn, to teach, and to play at the same time as you develop assessments. You will work with subject matter experts to help ensure question accuracy for exam preparation assessments. You will advise question writers with technical expertise and lead a team of subject matter experts who will assist in validating the technical accuracy of questions. You also will work closely with the team creating exam prep courses and labs. You will present about Exam Preparation to internal and external audiences. And, you will have the opportunity to put your own technical skills to use on special team projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in either (Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology (IT) services or similar technical Bachelor degree) or 4+yrs. relevant work experience developing technical training for the technical industry required.

  • 3+ yrs. demonstrated experience designing and developing IT or technical training materials and content to include creating instructor-led materials, online/e-learning modules, job aids, online tutorials, knowledge assessments and other training materials.

  • 3+ yrs. domain expertise in one or more of the following: Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Contact Centers, End User Computing (virtual desktop infrastructure), Game Tech, Security, IoT, Media, General Cloud Technology, Solutions Architecting, Application Development, DevOps, Databases, and/or System Operations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience architecting and operating solutions on Amazon Web Services

  • 3+ years experience deploying and developing applications on AWS

  • 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure, networking, security or database architecture

  • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, C++, C#, Python, or Javascript

  • Understanding of containers, microservices, and distributed application architecture

  • Knowledge and/or hands-on experience with AWS services highly desired.

  • All professional-level AWS Certifications and 1 or more specialty-level AWS Certifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
