Jacobs Bridge CAD Designer in Austin, Texas

Our team is experiencing exciting growth within South Texas. As a result, we’re looking to add a talented Bridge CAD Designer to our Transportation team to assist on several structural engineering projects. In this role you’ll prepare engineering drawings of plans, elevations, cross sections and details of bridge structures from rough sketches and/or from general engineering design information according to established standards and procedures. This position can be located in Austin, Houston or San Antonio, Texas.

In this role you’ll:

• Perform design/drafting assignments, requiring advanced working knowledge of design/drafting standards, practice and techniques.

• Work collaboratively in a team environment with other CAD Technicians and Engineers with minimal supervision.

• Actively promote and contribute to the successful completion of projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation.

• Assume responsibility and meet or exceed deliverable deadlines for your portion of the project scope, schedule and budget.

• Compile data and perform dimensional and routing calculations required for the preparation of drawings.

• Associates degree (AA) Degree or Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting.

• Minimum of 4 years CAD experience in Microstaion and Geopak.

• Ability to setup projects in CAD and develop project standards as needed.

• Experience with Projectwise.

• Experience developing full structural bridge plan sets and details.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience with InRoads/OpenRoads.

• Familiarity with TxDOT Bridge Detailing Guide and other TxDOT CAD production standards.

• Experience with transportation project plan development.
