Responsibilities

The Education / Lab RN Coordinator is responsible for educating employees on proper patient care techniques to meet regulatory agency and hospital standards, He / she will facilitate an Employee Health Program that includes disease detection, prevention, and treatment. In addition, is responsible for follow through with employee illnesses & injuries, conducts employee health screening, and promotes a safe work environment.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the employee health measures and modify as necessary.

  • Utilize current standards from the professional organizations and agencies as applicable to ensure program and quality effectiveness.

  • Participate in maintaining policies and procedures within the Education / Lab / Quality arenas.

  • Possess working knowledge and skills related to preparation, completion, and presentation of reports, graphs, and charts

  • Possess working knowledge of data collection and validation methods, to include knowledge of Excel and Access.

  • Plan, organize, develop, and implement educational programs for all hospital employees to increase employee awareness of existence of nosocomial infections; improve prevention and/or avoidance techniques to provide a safe environment for hospital patients and employees

  • Conduct new-hire screenings and annual employee health information updates.

  • Plan, organize and implement OSHA tuberculosis prevention plan.

  • Test new hires and employees for TB as indicated by the annual Tuberculosis risk assessment.

  • Conduct N95 respirator fit test in accordance with OSHA and CDC standards.

  • Refer employees with identifiable health risks to appropriate screenings; provide initial and follow-up assessments of job-related injuries

  • Plan, implement and conduct annual Influenza Vaccine Program and other immunization programs needed to maintain HICPAC and CDC standards.

  • Conduct surveillance and follow-up of employee exposures to communicable diseases

  • Ensure all Lab activities are completed as required.

Qualifications

  • Education, Vocational Training

    Associates Degree in Nursing; BSN Preferred

    Possess working knowledge of data collection, statistics and data validation

  • Experience

    2 - 3 years of experience in a hospital setting; experience in Quality / Employee Health RN Preferred

    USD $42.00/Hr. USD $45.00/Hr.
