Clickhereto see an inside look at the Texas Comptrollers office General description The Property Tax Assistance Division (PTAD) provides technical assistance to local governments and taxpayers on property tax issues but does not grant jurisdiction to intervene in local tax matters. PTAD is split into four areas, allowing the Division to offer technical assistance and implement statutory requirements in many innovative ways.The areas are outreach and support, education and communications, field appraisals, and data analysis.Apply to become a part of this great innovative Division.For more information about this Division go tohttps://comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/property-tax/about.php This position is critical to supporting PTAD on legislative matters. PTAD monitors, analyzes and serves as a resource on over 600 property tax related bills during a regular legislative session and property tax related charges during the interim. You are welcome to apply if you have experience with the reviewing, tracking, claiming and analysis of bills during Texas legislative sessions. This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates. Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Preferred Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university in public administration, finance, business, government, or other related majors. Experience: Experience working fulltime with the Texas Legislature or legislative process for at least two sessions. Preferred Experience: Experience in the property tax field. Experience compiling, evaluating and presenting legislative information. Experience analyzing proposed legislation for fiscal impact. Substitution: Additional years of work experience in a communication field may substitute for educational requirements on a year for year basis up to four years. Licenses/Certifications: Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) or Registered Texas Assessor (RTA) preferred. In this role you will support: PTAD management through identifying problem bills, conducting bill analysis and prepping resource witnesses for testimony before legislative committees; Legislative Affairs by claiming property tax related bills, completing LTS assignments, estimating administrative costs and responding to legislative inqui es, as needed; Communications by assisting with media inquires; and PTAD staff by tracking bills that require changes in division materials or procedures and monitoring implementation to ensure compliance.
