Applied Materials Data Scientist IV (E4) in Austin, Texas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works in project teams as subject matter expert to design and development of program methods, processes and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured, diverse "big data" sources

  • Performs complicated statistical and data -mining analysis, using statistical tools like R, SAS and MATlab input and design of data acquisition systems, data structure and database design.

  • Interfaces with internal customers for requirements analysis and special requests and schedules; derives insights and works with business unties to determine actions and KPI for those actions

  • Works in project teams developing difficult analytical models, algorithms and automated processes, applying SQL understanding and PHP or Python programming, to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets.

  • Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments; Supports the timely development of products for manufacturing and process information by applying sophisticated data analytics, based on a very good knowledge of the business processes and needs

  • Communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service and business management to be incorporated into the measuring of effective business processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in areas of Computer Science, Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering etc.

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science is preferred.

  • 7 to 10 years of Experience in application of ML (Machine Learning) in support of manufacturing environment.

  • Preferred experience with Semiconductor equipment / Manufacturing industry.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and have excellent communications skills.

  • Have key achievements as a DS professional and initiatives that have transformed business.

U.S. Salary Range:

$144,000.00 - $198,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
