The Position

As the US healthcare system strives to find value with the delivery of healthcare, Biosimilars can provide a market-based solution that can enable savings to patients through expanded access and affordability, and to the system to fund future innovations. Biosimilar markets are dynamic and require deep customer understanding with a nimble commercialization approach.

We are recruiting for a Region Director, Western US Account Management for the Biosimilars Business Unit (BU). The position reports to the Executive Director, US Biosimilar Commercial Leader, and serves as a member of the US BU leadership team.

This position has accountability for the management of the Regional Biosimilar Accounts Director (RBADs) and Associate Account Executives (AAEs) roles that are responsible for Organon’s business relationship with large regional and national accounts, including:

  • Integrated delivery networks (IDN) and hospital systems.

  • Community Oncology Clinics and Physician-owned Infusion Centers.

  • Government health systems (VAMCs, MTFs, Department of Corrections).

  • Hospital and Specialty GPO relationships.

The person selected for this position will need to have strong leadership skills, ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, lead cross-functional teams, articulate vision, and objectives clearly to their direct reports. The also lead the planning and execution of contract negotiations according to timelines for market events and respond to customer insights in a dynamic fashion. The selected candidate is expected to operate with integrity and transparency, as well as respect and adhere to the laws and regulations that govern our industry and our company policies. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities

  • Achieve top and bottom-line sales goals. Resource allocation and expense management to optimize net sales.

  • Staffing and selection of the region team members.

  • Provide leadership to account teams of the market environment /ecosystem to support prioritization of customers and appropriate business drivers.

  • Lead by example to ensure effective use of the negotiations process.

  • Oversight and management of region account strategies and customer account profiles/plans monitored through routine business reviews (internal and external).

  • Accountable for ensuring the organization follows all policies, business practices, and compliance guidelines.

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of brand and corporate strategies, pull-through and evolving the regional design to meet market needs.

  • Gather and share insights to BU leadership to inform strategy and execution.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • BS/BA degree.

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in the pharmaceutical or other health care field, managing complex business activities.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in Sales/Account Management, Marketing or Managed Markets in the Pharmaceutical or healthcare related industry (e.g., medical device, healthcare technology, etc.).

  • Three plus years People Leadership experience.

  • Three plus years of experience developing and managing customer relationships.

  • Requires approximately 50% travel, including some weekends.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

  • Advanced degree in business or pharmacy/health administration related.

  • Understanding of customer needs and their environment to develop and implement strategies and tactics to foster biosimilar adoption.

  • Understanding of the buy and bill market, specialty pharmacy (SP), key customers, and current dynamics that can positively and negatively influence biosimilar markets.

  • Understanding of contracting, reimbursement, and practice economics for buy and bill and SP products for hospitals, payers, patients, and other stakeholders.

  • Make sound business decisions based on deep understanding of business potential.

  • Creates a strategic plan by integrating short-, mid-, and long-term objectives.

  • Attract, select, retain, and motivate top talent; manage full continuum of performance.

  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork that leads to effective collaboration with customers and extended Organon teams.

  • Clearly communicates and articulates a vision and strategy that motivates and energizes the region and ability to lead organization through effective change management.

  • Ability to make resource decisions and trade-offs to maximize business potential.

The selected candidate must be local to an international airport as they'll be covering the entire Western Region. Eastern more headquartered cities could be Dallas and Minneapolis. Would consider any major metropolitan area to the west coast. 50% travel is required for this role.

Final salary determinations take a number of factors into account including, but not limited to, primary work location, relevant skills, education level, and/or prior work experience. The applicable salary range for this position in the U.S. is stated below. Benefits offered in the U.S. include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation and holiday time, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$183,100.00 - $311,500.00
