Foundation Communities Financial Wellness Program Manager in Austin, Texas

Position Description: The Prosper Center is seeking a Financial Wellness Program Manager to oversee the Financial Wellness programs including Benefits Assistance, Emergency Assistance, Financial Coaching, Small Dollar Loans and Rent Reporting. This role entails supervising the staff responsible for coordinating and delivering direct services to Prosper Center clients and Foundation Communities residents.  

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to Benefits Assistance Specialists, Financial Wellness Program Coordinator, and Financial Case Managers to ensure strong performance and employee engagement   

  • Manage program structure and operations that lead to successful completion of program goals and grant requirements  

  • Lead Financial Wellness team meetings, facilitate goal planning and track progress toward goals  

  • Ensure that program policies and procedures promote empathetic, trauma-informed and efficient service delivery 

  • Maintain relevant certifications while proactively expanding knowledge and expertise in financial stability topics ranging from basic needs to financial success  

  • Organize, create, update, and maintain training materials; with Financial Wellness team members, deliver trainings for staff and volunteers on financial stability topics 

  • Ensure that program data collection and entry is done accurately and timely 

  • Support grant writing and reporting activities for Financial Wellness programs 

  • Maintain good partner relationships including, but not limited to, Texas Health and Human Services, Austin Energy, the Credit Builder’s Alliance, Esusu and additional local community-based organizations 

  • Coordinate with outreach staff to recruit program participants 

  • Lead coordinated service delivery with other program staff, particularly the other Prosper Programs (Health Coverage and Tax Help), Health Initiatives, Property Management, Education Pathways and Volunteer Engagement teams 

  • Participate in Prosper Program managers’ meetings and trainings

    Minimum Requirements:

  • • Experienced in managing programs/services and leading teams

  • • Strong organizational, detail-oriented skills

  • • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

  • • Skilled in providing empathetic, trauma-informed services

  • • Effective team player with independent work capabilities

  • • Quick, creative problem-solving abilities

  • • Proficient in prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines

  • • Effective collaborator with diverse populations

  • • Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • • Proficient with standard office software and databases

    Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish 

    Working Conditions:

    General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. 

    Physical Requirements:  

    General office-based demands including remaining in the seated position with occasional standing and walking. Travel between locations.  

    Compensation

    $65,000/annual
