SHI IT Solutions Architect - eCommerce in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

The E-Commerce Solutions Architect is a strategic member of our IT Department, specializing in applying industrial knowledge and best practices in developing a best-in-class e-commerce system. This role is a consultative partner for our internal stakeholders, understanding their goals and strategies and mapping solutions to business outcomes. The ECommerce Solutions Architect leverages their expertise in software programs and business strategies to maximize productivity and communication. With proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform and a deep understanding of business processes, the ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement innovative e-commerce solutions.

This position must report to the SHI Austin, TX, or SHI Somerset, NJ, office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver eCommerce solutions, including developers, designers, project managers, and business stakeholders.

  • Provide technical leadership and communicate technical concepts to non- technical stakeholders.

  • Oversee the integration of eCommerce platforms with other systems, ensuring a seamless user experience.

  • Design scalable, secure, stable, and composable eCommerce architectures using Azure cloud technologies supporting fast-paced development cycles.

  • Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge.

  • Develop cross-functional strategies and solutions that align with business objectives.

  • Translate business and technical objectives into prioritized, phased solutions.

  • Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards.

  • Provide technology/architecture recommendations based on business relevance,appropriate timing, and deployment.

  • Ensure the portfolio is current by driving the retirement of legacysolutions/technologies.

  • Contribute to the design of operational processes, ensuring eLiciency, scalability,and compliance with policies and security requirements.

  • Stay current with new technologies and frameworks and recommend adopting newpartners or solution components.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or relevant work experience is required.

  • 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture or software engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience with application development and modernization.

  • Core Development Skills: C#, SQL, JSON, REST API, Power BI, Power Platform, GitHub (including Actions), Jenkins, Jira, Confluence.

  • Design and support multi-tier applications and cloud-based architectures.

  • Expertise in diagramming tools (Visio/LucidChart).

  • Ability to analyze requirements, recommend technical solutions and write technical specifications.

  • Ability to eLiciently work with executives and internal stakeholders.

  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.

  • Project management and leadership skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Ability to translate goals and strategies into business solutions.

Required Skills

  • Ability to analyze business requirements, recommend technical solutions, and write technical specifications and/or requirements

  • Ability to efficiently work with executives and internal stakeholders

  • Designing and supporting multi-tier application and cloud-based architectures

  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures 

  • Project management and leadership skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to translate goals and strategies into business solutions

Preferred Skills

  • Cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS).

  • Data modeling, performance tuning, data extraction, and migration.

  • Event-driven architectures.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with iterative and test-driven development practice.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Strong understanding of Agile practices, including Scrum.

Unique Requirements

Travel as needed based on business needs and determined by SHI management.

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $100,000 - $200,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual
