Work involves caring for and maintaining the appearance of grounds, gardens and maintaining and repairing grounds keeping tools, supplies, and equipment. Works under general supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be asked to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Assist in grounds work such as mowing, trimming shrubs and maintaining flower beds.Operate all landscaping equipment in an efficient and safe manner. Assist with the installation and repairs of the sprinkler system, fountain, pool maintenance and pesticide application. Assist with moving furniture or working in other maintenance areas. Assist as needed with regular preventative maintenance of landscaping equipment.Respond to emergency work orders as assigned; work weekends and after hours as needed.Performs other duties as assigned. Applicants with an out-of-state driverand#146;s license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
