TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION N356 Financial/Data Analyst III in Austin, Texas

Performs moderately complex data analysis and data research work. Work involves conducting detailed analysis and extensive research on data and providing results in various formats. Monitors and implements measures to ensure data quality. Performs advanced transportation programming, letting project scheduling, and federal funding preparation and analysis work. Oversees projects/grants/programs/lettings to include application, approval, monitoring, audits, investigations, and authorizing funding. Responsible for using standard statistical tools, methods and techniques to translate data into actionable insights using data visualization software. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Essential Duties:Create new and/or improves existing financial models and reports for federal and state-funded project obligations, track funding levels utilization and streamline processes procedures.Develops and modifies reports, dashboards and interactive visualizations using different components of Tableau software including Tableau desktop, Tableau Prep, and Tableau server.Oversees project data integrity and quality control processes; ensure accuracy/consistency of internal and external reports.Serves as a project leader; coordinates project activities to support the implementation of agency finance division initiatives, new and/or revised state federal legislation and streamline processes.Prepares, reviews, and distributes letting, project funding, federal/state funds management reports and/or presentations for Commission quarterly review meetings, senior leadership, and statewide initiatives.Coordinates project scheduling, programming, and funding review/approval for assigned division(s) and/or districts within TXDOTCONNECT, the Departmentandrsquo;s Category Analysis, Federal Aid Funding Obligation System (FAFOS) and Financial Management Information System (FIMS).Monitors financial constraint of assigned division and/or districtsandrsquo; construction funding allocations, as established annually by the Chief Financial Officer in accordance with the agencyandrsquo;s Cash Forecast.Develops and implements procedures to ensures compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and standards pertaining to programs.Serves as liaison and contact in area(s) of expertise. Trains branch and team members on development of reports using Tableau, Excel, and other software solutions.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
