Texas Health Action is seeking a Nurse Manager that is responsible for clinical oversight of our nursing teams within Kind Clinics, Outreach & Testing, This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 40 hours a week with some evening and weekend hours.
The ideal candidate for this role maintains effective communication with our nurses, staff and physicians, provides patient care in a competent, professional and courteous manner, and partners closely with each Clinic Manager as to the specific areas of clinical practice required for our licensed nurses..
Essential Duties:
Collaborate with operational managers and the Patient Access Nurse Manager to ensure appropriate nurse staffing for clinical operations.
Attend regular Kind Clinic manager meetings to support integrated clinical-administrative care coordination and service delivery.
Oversee clinical management duties, including conducting performance reviews, maintaining supervisory workflows, providing feedback, and assisting in the development of performance improvement plans for the nursing team.
Lead and participate in clinical quality reviews and facilitate quality improvement projects under the direction of the Director of Clinical Quality.
Adhere to the organization’s nursing SDOs, policies, and procedures.
Comply with Texas DSHS notifiable condition reporting requirements.
Organize regular nursing team meetings focused on team-building and professional development.
Act as a clinical resource and professional role model for nursing staff.
Coordinate nurse onboarding and annual training in partnership with the clinical education manager, patient access nursing manager, and administrative supervisors.
Conduct regular medical chart and incident report reviews.
Compile and analyze data for audits and reports.
Assist in the development and revision of clinical policies and procedures in line with regulatory guidance, evidence-based practices, and funding requirements.
Stay current on clinical care standards and external requirements, including DSHS STI/HIV, TIPP, ASN, Immtrac, and Class D Pharmacy standards.
Ensure completion of the Vaccine Management Plan (VMP) and ASN re-enrollments for each location, serving as a backup vaccine coordinator when needed.
Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, consultants, patients, partners, and the community.
Promote conflict resolution and enhance patient and staff satisfaction.
Perform both direct and indirect patient care nursing tasks as needed.
Maintain clinical competencies through direct care observation and active participation in clinical practice.
Prioritize tasks and services, ensuring timely completion.
Lead and participate in in-service training sessions and other relevant meetings.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation
Based on job duties and requirements, this position is placed in salary band 48 with a starting pay range between $92,00.00-$96,000.00 per year. Initial placement within salary band will be based on hired candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Requirements
Education and/or Licensure:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing.
Active and unrestricted nursing license to practice in the state of Texas.
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years in an outpatient clinic setting.
At least 2+ years of experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized communities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn company-specific programs or software.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent education, certifications, and relevant experience.
Experience as a Clinical Nurse Manager or in a similar leadership role.
Proficiency in Athenahealth electronic medical record documentation.
Experience in HIV testing, HIV services, STI testing, and treatment clinic operations.
Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is an asset.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in PC skills, including Windows OS, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong commitment to confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA standards.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills with cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations.
Strong verbal and written communication in English; additional language skills are a plus.
Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
Skilled in interacting effectively with individuals from diverse roles, backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses, including those in crisis or with resistance toward organizations.
