RGP Plant Controller Consultant in Austin, Texas

As a Plant Controller Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients in a variety of challenging projects and the delivery of effective financial processes and controls that support business objectives and operational needs. The Plant Controller role involves working across Accounting, Finance, Internal Controls, and Operations to ensure financial performance, compliance, and operational excellence. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • Collaborate closely with Finance Directors and other key business leaders to support and advance financial objectives. Provide strategic recommendations that align with the company’s overall business strategy, acting as a genuine partner to the client’s leadership team.

  • Oversee the month-end accounting close process, ensuring results are accurate and timely, in compliance with US GAAP standards. Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of internal financial data to pinpoint issues, uncover opportunities, and identify trends, equipping business owners and senior leaders with the financial insights necessary for informed decision-making.

  • Establish and uphold a robust control environment and culture to mitigate business risks and exposures.

  • Guide teams through change initiatives by offering coaching, training, and setting clear objectives to address the client’s immediate needs while supporting their long-term goals.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or related field required

  • CPA, CMA, CFE, CIA preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with additional experience in SEC reporting considered a plus. Proficient in general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis.

  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and foster trust across all organizational levels.

  • Experienced in working with large ERP systems and possess advanced technical skills.

  • Variety of workplace arrangements including hybrid, remote, onsite.   

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
