Whole Foods Market Principal Product Manager in Austin, Texas

Job DescriptionAt Whole Foods Market, we’re passionate about providing exceptional products and experiences to our customers and team members alike. Our Supply Chain and Under the Roof Product Team is on a mission to innovate and streamline the Team Member experience in our Inbound and Inventory domains. We’re hiring a Principal Product Manager to join our team and lead the charge in transforming our product landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by collaborating with tech, UX, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver outstanding results.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Innovation: Spearhead the development of new applications, driving innovation and simplifying processes to enhance the Team Member experience.

  • Translate Business Needs: Convert business goals, customer needs, and technical directions into clear, actionable business requirements or product backlogs for complex applications or product families.

  • Bridge Gaps: Serve as a link between business users and development teams by applying in-depth knowledge of complex business processes and technical integration across various business domains.

  • Strategic Roadmapping: Develop and manage a long-term product roadmap (12 months or more), ensuring alignment with stakeholder objectives and business needs.

  • User-Centric Focus: Identify and evaluate end user personas, target users, and user journeys, and ensure solutions meet their needs and quality standards.

  • Build Business Cases: Partner with the business to create compelling business cases for new or existing solutions, secure stakeholder support, and obtain necessary resources.

  • Monitor Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, stakeholder satisfaction, and usage metrics to identify opportunities for product and process improvements.

  • Influence Strategy: Drive strategic thinking across the organization, fostering cross-functional collaboration and integration.

  • User Testing: Design, segment, and recruit for user testing, A/B testing, interviews, and surveys, and use insights to inform product enhancements.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of software engineering practices and experience with developing software products and technologies.

  • Integration Knowledge: Working knowledge of complex technical and integration architecture patterns.

  • Deployment Skills: Advanced understanding of application deployment, support processes, and tools.

  • Requirements Management: Proficiency with requirements or backlog management software.

  • Analytics Acumen: Advanced knowledge of product analytics tools, tagging methods, and interpreting metrics accurately.

  • Roadmap Experience: Proven track record in developing, publishing, and achieving product roadmaps.

  • User Insights: Experience in designing, segmenting, and recruiting for user testing, A/B testing, and surveys, with the ability to synthesize outputs into actionable insights.

  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to present technical information, tell impactful user stories, and respond effectively in both one-on-one and group settings.

  • Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrated capability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in cross-functional and cross-product settings.

  • Feedback Integration: Skill in incorporating customer, partner, and technical feedback into product design and development.

  • Strong Writing: Excellent writing skills to convey information clearly and persuasively.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree with 6-8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and product management experience

  • MBA preferred
