Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Texas Class C Driver License.

This position monitors day-to-day operations, reports on performance, and recommends actionable improvements when necessary at Austin Energy for the Electric Vehicles (EV) & Emerging Technologies team to include incentive programs and electric vehicle (EV) charging programs with a focus on operational excellence to enhance the customer experience. The Program Manager I position will be responsible for program operations to support Austin Energy’s EV charging programs. The role may include some or all of the following: customer support vendor and contract management rebate processing ongoing reporting and monitoring of programs outreach activities This position will require some travel and evening and weekend work on occasion to support outreach events.

This position requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. Travel:

Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Critical Employee: This position has been designated as a Critical Employee position. Critical Employees are considered necessary and vital and supports activities that impact City or department operations. This work can be done while at a designated work site or while working at an alternate work location. Critical employees who are able to work at an alternative work location are required to do so. Schedules may be modified, and employees may be reassigned to another area during extraordinary situations or emergency conditions to provide essential services.

Pay Range

$30.29 - $37.86

Hours

Monday – Friday.

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hybrid – 50% in office

Additional hours may be required to work outside of regular schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subject matter expertise in best practices, customer adoption, and industry trends of electric vehicles.

  • Experience with utility electric vehicle programs to include customer EV adoption.

  • Experience in outreach and education related to electric vehicles.

  • Experience in customer support or customer service, with excellent skills in communicating both orally and in writing.

  • Experience with ChargePoint software platform for management of electric vehicle charging stations.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

6 Assists in developing, managing and submitting proposed budget forecast information

  3. Investigates and responds to inquiries from the public and other departments

  4. Provides technical advice and assistance to department management, city management, field personnel, contractors, etc.
