As a Modeling & Simulation Engineer , you will participate in unique multi-disciplinary research across integrated product teams consisting of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), Signal Processing, Electronic Warfare, and missile-and-sensor-level countermeasure effectiveness performance simulations. You will run, develop, and update existing high fidelity performance simulations that include multiple threat emulation, scene or pulse generation capability, control virtual hardware, model the physical environment, interference, and system performance evaluation. Countermeasure effectiveness analysis includes making updates to the model functions, system optimization and Monte Carlo assessments to predicted expected missile behaviors to countermeasures.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • You will be the technical expert in a team environment on diverse projects, providing solutions to create high fidelity simulations and models for missile countermeasures, performance assessment, interference mitigation, trade studies and support to government evaluations.

  • You will work collaboratively, through oversight of teams, to solve the Modeling and Simulation obstacles both with the creators of the tools, but also with new team members to implement changes and verify behaviors.

  • Analysis of Missile countermeasure performance both in simulation, laboratory, and hardware test

  • Leadership of small team teams and/or specific trade study efforts

  • Perform simulation using government or industry tools to determine countermeasure measures of performance (MOPs) and measures of effectiveness (MOEs) or Reduction in Lethality (RIL) for capabilities, existing products, and new products.

  • Use, develop, and modifying tools to support data analysis of simulations.

  • Lead teams for developing modeling tools.

  • Define interfaces and software plug-ins required for simulation and oversee their development.

  • Review/critique of work of junior and peer engineers.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically requires a Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree with a minimum work experience of:

  • 8 Years with BS

  • 6 Years with MS

  • 4 Year with PHD

  • Experience designing and performing analysis of high-fidelity performance simulations.

  • Experience in project design reviews and/or peer reviews and preparing/delivering technical briefings to internal stakeholders and external customers.

  • Critical thinker with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly interpret/adapt new tools and configurations.

  • Ability to demonstrate RF concepts including antenna patterns, environmental effects, radar range, frequency, jamming, countermeasures, etc.

  • Familiar with EA Techniques

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong ability to communicate with customers and team members.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with operation of mission-level simulation tools such as AFSIM, DIADS, BRAWLER, ESAMS and/or NGTS.

  • Experience programming in C, C , or other high order language, using tools for evaluation of data sets, and UNIX/Linux based workstations.

  • Experience with mathematical modeling tools and scripting languages such as MATLAB, Python, and similar tools.

  • Previous experience in performing sensitivity studies and batch processing of data.

  • Previous Experience (familiarity) with FORTRAN and ADA.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
