Amazon Sr Security Engineer, Platform Security (Crypto) in Austin, Texas

Description

Amazon is looking for a Senior Security Engineer with strong insight and passion for security to ensure our infrastructure is designed and built to the highest standards. You will work in a fast-paced environment on cutting edge security at-scale solutions.

You will be a technical leader on a highly-skilled team responsible for securing Amazon-sized crypto implementations. You will participate in the security evaluation of service designs, risk assessment, vulnerability analysis, security issue resolution, and security automation.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with team and organizational management to set the multi year strategy to secure Amazon infrastructure

  • Lead the security engineering efforts in driving crypto programs like encryption in transit, secrets management, PKI etc.

  • Define requirements, design, and assist in building reliable and efficient security engineering solutions to identify and enumerate risks to Amazon assets

  • Develop and mentor team members to constantly raise the bar of our Leadership Principles

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cryptography, application security, threat modeling

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with one or programming languages (such as, Java, C++, Ruby, Perl, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing infrastructure security solutions at the business division level

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols

  • An understanding of network and web related protocols (such as, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
