Amazon Senior Standards Architect, Worldwide Retail Growth & Development in Austin, Texas

Description

We are looking for an innovative Architectural Standards Designer to join the Store Development Team who is obsessed with creating world-class shopping experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of code requirements and their application in a retail environment. This position will be responsible for the creation and implementation of brand architectural and engineering design and technical standards. You will work closely with architecture and engineering consultants as well as an in-house store design, construction and procurement teams. This position will collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams at many levels. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and has a deep passion for innovative retail design. Outstanding project management and communication skills, both written and verbal are required for this role.

Key job responsibilities

• Driving and creating program documentation, standards and design modules through Revit and other production software

• Directly manage architectural and engineering consultants in the development of store design guidelines, standards and specifications for existing and new concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way

• Working with key internal and external stakeholders in the production of comprehensive architectural and engineering packages for all phases of design

• Creating presentation as needed to communicate design

• Communicating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership

• Reviewing shop drawings, specifications and cut sheets

• Demonstrates willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing work environment and deals effectively with varying workload requirements; can shift gears comfortably, manages competing demands, delays or unexpected events

• Strong architectural project management, multi-tasking and organizational skills

• Knowledge of store development process from site identification through construction

• Coordinates with construction team on budget considerations and value engineering efforts

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
