Job Profile Title: Principal Test Development Engineer

How will you make an impact? -

Jabil is seeking a Site Reliability Lead Engineer who will directly contribute to the transformative growth within our Intelligent Infrastructure division by applying unique and innovative approaches to solving problems within a large-scale software production environment. The Site Reliability Lead Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the test network infrastructure of the Intelligent Infrastructure’s factories on a global scale, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for contributing to the end-to-end architecture, definition, development, and production deployment of test network infrastructure spanning multiple customers and manufacturing regions. You will also be responsible for interfacing with internal engineering, manufacturing, quality, and IT teams and our end customers to ensure our test network infrastructure deliverables meet the rigorous standards of Jabil’s world-class manufacturing environments.

What will you do?-

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of test infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible.

  • Planning test engineering Infrastructure and Network strategies for the Intelligent Infrastructure - GCTD organization

  • Ensuring global accurate and efficient governance policy deployment and adherence to test networks, security, and infrastructure areas

  • Seeking out and implementing continuous test network/Infrastructure improvement opportunities and optimized infrastructure performance.

  • Assist with creating and managing infrastructure and test network budgets and NREs.

  • Lead & oversee the implementation of newly deployed and purchased test network solutions.

  • Ensure maximum availability of test network and network resources to users and production applications.

  • Manages various test network resources in support of business processing requirements.

  • Debug complex problems related to test network and business-critical applications. Drive post-incident analysis and root cause investigation implementing corrective action to prevent future occurrences.

  • Involved in the evaluation and selection of test network infrastructure technology.

  • Manages the architecture of test network infrastructure including, Wireless, BGP, OSPF, Firewalls, DHCP, Public DNS, SD-WAN, Cloud Service providers (OCI),

  • DR strategies, Network capabilities and functions.

  • Accountable for operational excellence, ensuring all systems are reliable, accessible, secure, and meet established SLAs / OLAs for both internal and external customers.

  • Overseeing appropriate vendor relationships related to associated technologies, services, and solutions needed to operate enterprise functions.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Jabil’s SRE team members

How will you get here? -

Education:

  • BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required

Experience:

  • 10 + years of experience in leading network infrastructure projects, network data center design, WAN Design, and creating/maintaining network diagrams and documentation.

  • 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex IT and/or DevOps solutions

  • 10+ years of experience administering Linux systems in an enterprise / data center setting supporting production applications

  • This position requires formal training and at least 10 years of experience in Network Engineering and administration in an enterprise / data center environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Direct experience in administration of one of more of the following

  • Large-scale monitoring platforms such as Zabbix

  • Source Control Management Software and CI/CD practices, preferably ADO

  • Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Ansible

  • Wireless, BGP, OSPF, Firewalls, DHCP, Public DNS, SD-WAN, Cloud Service providers (OCI)

  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, preferably Python, Bash or PowerShell

  • Ability to establish performance-based relationships with 3rd party vendors and technology providers and versed in setting standards and measurements for IT processes.

  • Ability to manage and work on multiple concurrent deliverables at various stages of development and completion.

  • Strong collaboration and team-building skills with the ability to create consensus around decisions and mitigate conflicts among teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree preferred

  • Experience working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment

  • Domestic and/or international travel, up to 20%, may be required

The pay range for this role is $122,242 - $220,035. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: September 27, 2024.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self.
