Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, Offensive Security Development and Engineering in Austin, Texas

**This role is also open to Austin, TX | Seattle, WA.

Amazon’s Offensive Security organization is growing and is seeking a Software Development Engineers to join us to provide software development solutions for our Offensive Security teams (Penetration Test, Red Team, Bug Bounty). In this role, you will help build, own, maintain, and improve software platforms and solutions that will enable our offensive security teams to focus on finding security vulnerabilities across Amazon.

You will work with other members of our growing offensive security teams to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility of ideas. You will write high quality distributed software solutions, operating at a scale that’s not available anywhere else. Come help us drive software development best practices, operational and engineering excellence across the organization, and impact how other teams operate.

Key job responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of software platforms across the Offensive Security organization

  • Apply development best practices and operational and engineering excellence across the Offensive Security organization

  • Mentoring Junior engineers in the team.

  • Support effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

  • Implement improvements to internal program and processes

  • Write and deliver high-quality documents for technical and non-technical audiences

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 3+ years of full stack development experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
