The Opportunity

As a Senior Analyst in Fraud Detection Analytics at Ally, you’ll be responsible for the development of analytical solutions that allow us to do things like detect fraudulent activity, prevent bank losses, and improve the customer experience through statistical analysis of data; developing fraud rules to alert on risky behavior; creating dashboards to monitor abnormal behavior.

The Work Itself

  • Responsible for developing fraud detection strategies for our Invest Portfolio.
  • Use large transactional and behavioral data sets to conduct business analysis through SQL, Python or R to find patterns of fraudulent behavior required
  • From analysis on fraud patterns, develop fraud rules and strategies to alert on risky behavior.
  • Create proposals for fraud rule changes and present to partner teams for approval that will be worked by fraud operations to review for fraud.
  • Design, build and monitor dashboards to monitor daily behavior for abnormalities or elevated activity then research behavior to determine if risk is present.
  • Work quickly to triage fraud attacks and high dollar loss events by performing detection logic to prevent further activity.

The Skills You Bring

  • 2+ years’ experience managing fraud risk for self-directed brokerage.
  • 3+ years’ of demonstrated experience turning business questions into insights through analysis of large data sets
  • Advanced SQL skills required.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Python, SAS and/or R skills preferred.
  • Data visualization skills through Power BI (Preferred) or Tableau.
  • Proficiency in various database environment, such as Snowflake, Hadoop, Oracle or AWS and proven experience to extract data.
  • Preferred knowledge of fraud, banking transactions and/or financial services operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or similar field of study required (Master’s Degree Preferred).

Base Pay Range:

Emerging: 85000

Experienced: 117500

Expert: 150000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan
