Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled System Administrator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system administration principles and be proficient in managing and maintaining a variety of server and network infrastructure components. This role requires a proactive and results-oriented individual with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities:
Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain servers (physical and virtual) running various operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux)
Manage server performance, security, and availability
Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures
Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues
Network Administration: Manage and maintain network infrastructure components (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls)
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Implement and maintain network security policies
Active Directory: Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Active Directory
Implement and maintain Group Policy Objects
Security: Implement and enforce security best practices and policies
Monitor security logs and respond to security incidents
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts to automate system administration tasks
Utilize automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and procedures
Project Support: Participate in IT projects as needed, providing technical expertise and support
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience: 3+ years of experience in system administration
Requirements
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems
Experience with Linux/Unix systems (preferred)
Proficiency in networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) (preferred)
Experience with security tools and best practices
