YOUR FUTURE TEAM As part of TCEQs Office of Waste, you would contribute to agency efforts to regulate the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of various wastes and the cleanup of contaminated sites. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our Radioactive Materials Division. KEY QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree or higher in physical science, environmental science, engineering, geography with emphasis in environmental studies or emphasis in natural resource studies, or international studies with emphasis in environmental studies or emphasis in natural resource studies. Experience in identifying, and assisting regulated entities to meet, the requirements of state rules. Experience in representing, with a large degree of independence, an employer in discussions and written correspondence, Experience analyzing and/or interpreting environmental data. HERES WHAT YOULL BE DOING... Conduct advanced administrative and technical reviews of reports, applications, and Underground Injection Control (UIC) permits and authorizations to regulate UIC facilities for the TCEQ. Conduct administrative reviews of applications for UIC permits. Assist in review and evaluation of complex permit and authorization applications, reports, certifications, and notices related to injection activities and correspondence to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Provide information concerning permits and authorizations and related processes to internal and external customers through verbal communication, correspondence, meetings, and presentations. Assist customers regarding the program through phone calls, correspondence, data reports, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs). Qualifications: EDUCATION EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field, plus five years of full-time experience in environmental activities. *One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education. OR A masters degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus four years of the required experience. OR A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science, environmental studies, or related fields plus three years of the required experience. OR Three years of full-time experience as a Natural Resources Specialist III at the TCEQ. Transcripts/ College Hours or Course Work:See instructionson how to attach documents.
